Beth Williamson Miller
Executive Director

As of February 1, 2010, Beth Williamson Miller began her tenth year as Executive Director of the Ballard Chamber of Commerce. To the job, she brought five years of experience working on Ballard’s Neighborhood Plan, including the areas of transportation, the arts, parks and communication. As one of the founding Board members of Arts Ballard, she was able to provide continuity to the Second Saturday Art Walk when leadership for the event moved to the Chamber. Ms. Miller has also served on the Ballard High School Foundation Art Committee, the Ballard District Council and the Ballard Food Bank Board of Directors.

Beth is a Seattle native who received her college education at the University of Washington, with degrees in Business Administration and Communications. Working for local advertising agencies in the beginning of her career, she later moved to Philadelphia, where she spent ten years in marketing. There she was the public relations director for Bloomingdale’s stores in Pennsylvania, owner of a small advertising agency and salesperson for a weekly newspaper. All of this provided valuable experience transferable to the promotion of the Ballard community.

In 1993, Beth returned to the Northwest and purchased a home in Ballard. She also returned to the UW to pursue studies in Landscape Architecture, Historic Preservation, Public Art and Urban Planning. This too provided a strong foundation for working with the City and the community to develop design guidelines for Ballard’s streetscape and Municipal Center and to plan for park development.

In her free time, Beth enjoys the company of her husband, two dogs and two cats. Artistic needs are satisfied with fiber arts, reading and gardening. And those who know Beth well can attest to her bad Ebay habit and the quest for vintage sewing buttons, fabric and beads.

Sue Allegra
Administrative Manager

As the former manager of All the King's Flags in Ballard, Sue is not only familiar with the needs and concerns of merchants, she also knows Ballard. Born and raised in West Seattle, with a father who helped engineer the fish ladder in Ballard, Sue is a true Seattlelite. After three years at the Chamber, many of you are familiar with her friendly telephone voice and helpful spirit. What you might not know is how much she loves women's basketball--both the UW team and the Storm. Though the office is small, her work load, especially around SeafoodFest, is often extra large. And speaking of SeafoodFest, she holds the title of "most often entered coverall contestant" and took the grand prize in 2004.
